David Barrutia will describe a typical school day in China, explain the importance of rankings, discuss classroom dynamics and learning styles, and provide insight into the educational reforms taking place across China.

David was born in Peru, educated in the United States, and has lived and worked for the past 13 years in China. Throughout his career in the Chinese private and public education sector, David has been a strong advocate for the value of American education in China. David’s role as Director of Counseling at the International Campus of the prestigious Beijing No. 4 High School gives him a unique vantage point to provide an overview of the Chinese education system. David is pursuing graduate school studies in public administration and policy at Renmin University, which gives him an insider's perspective from academia as well.
